As stated below, a typical estate pub which is on the number 3 bus route. Only Banks's Amber available when we called in. Quite a few locals in so the place looks well used. Decent outdoor seating area.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Harrowby Arms

Marston's estate pub dating from the 1960s(?), with two modernised bars - the rear one looking like it might once have been more of a dining area at some stage - plus a more traditional side lounge. A pool table occupies one end of the front room and a dartboard can be found at the other extremity. Fairly plain semi-modern furniture and decor (apart from one arched booth), but has a good-sized front beer garden. Just one of the three handpumps was clipped, but the Old Empire IPA expired during the pour which was a shame (especially since it would have cost just £2.95), so went for the Pedigree (£2.60) from among the reasonable selection of bottled offerings in the fridge.

A large detached Marston's food pub with a beer garden area. It is an estate pub for the 50/60s estate, but at least has a little more character. The pub is in cream, with some red on the large barn like front facing gable. There are large bay windows, one gabled, either side of the entrance. The interior is one large open plan room with a central bar. To the left and rear there are more dining areas and to the right, a bar area with a pool table, dart board and TV. The decor is cream and green with some patterned wallpaper and a number of old photographs are on the walls. It does the usual kind of Marston's menu, but i didn't eat so can't comment on that. The service was OK and it was nice to see so many using the place just to have a drink rather than eating - clearly a community pub. Beer; usual keg stuff with Banks's MILD. On handpull there was Banks's Bitter and an ok Hobgoblin. A nice enough place, but a little light on the beer front.
