Soup Dragon left this review about The Fieldhouse

A detached pub and restaurant with heated patio area (with its own music) and beer gardens front and rear. The name suits, as it looks like country farm, being in white and beam look, with bay windows that have leaded and coloured glass, a white painted brich extension and a moulded cornice.

The interior has two rooms. To the right (when viewed from the front) there is a smallish restaurant - viewed from through the window, it appeared to be in red, with a brick fireplace and high backed comfy chairs, with bistro style pictures. The bar is an L-shaped room with a brick fireplace. It is in mint green, red, with some black patterned wallpaper, with a beamed ceiling and wood floor. I noted a TV, but it was packed, so i smply got a drink and ran outside. The service was OK and the clientele very mixed (though just a couple eating).

Beer; the usual tap stuff with four handpulls - the pump clip collection behind the bar was a tease, as the only thing on was the tiresome Bombardier. I had a half, it was well kept, it is just a dreary drink.

I made a point of stopping here due to the great review provided by the Monster below. Sadly, it was a disappointment, due to the lack of beer choice and being so busy (not the accuracy of the Monster's review). It may have just been bad luck on my part.

Ale Monster left this review about Fieldhouse Inn

A lovely old half timber building with two small rooms that was previously a Mitchell’s and Butlers pub, but I believe it is now a privately owned free house. On the left of the building is a small dining lounge with an L shaped bar counter in the back right corner and two brick fire places (one at either end of the room). There are three or four tables set for dining and the décor is very modern with arty prints on the walls although the original timber beams have been retained. On the right of the building is a tiny traditional snug with a little bar counter on the left, a large inglenook fire place which dominates the right hand wall, a dart board on the back wall and space for only two tables. This room is far more traditional and a total contrast to the lounge next door, there is a small flat screen TV above the door and old photos of Wolves FC on the walls. There is a corridor at the back of the building that links the two rooms which has several old photos of Wolverhampton town centre from around 1900 on the walls. I couldn’t help notice the fresh flowers that were in both rooms as the pleasant smell was quite strong.

Regular ales are Theakston XB, Ruddles County, Draught Bass and Banks’s Mild with a changing guest beer that was Wychwood Hobgoblin on this occasion. A nice selection of beers that were all well kept in my opinion.

This is a really good pub that reopened with new owners at the beginning of August, there is a small tapas menu and they were having a BBQ out on the patio during my visit. The modern décor of the Lounge is not to my taste but I absolutely love the small traditional snug, I could easily get very comfy in there and with a very decent selection of beers I can see myself becoming a regular visitor.
