Multi-room Marston's pub in an obviously old building, with a variety of seating / dining / games areas around and beyond the bar. All refurbished in a semi-traditional, if rather anonymous, style. Four real ales available from the two banks of three handpumps: Banks's Mild (£1.99) and Amber, Hobgoblin Gold and Old Empire IPA.

We were told from the barman that this was the oldest pub in Wednesfield. After viewing the exposed wattle and daub protected behind glass near the main entrance, I well believe him. There were also some old photos of the pub featured. We tried the Bank's Bitter and Bank's Mild, which were both in great shape and at £2 a pint cheaper than the nearby Spoons. There was also a Hobgoblin on handpump. This is a welcoming pub and well worth a visit.
