Update: Now a 2 Crafty Brewers pub. The exterior is the same but there is a garden/patio area. The interior has only changed a little, still 3 rooms that are white and beam with tile flooring. There is now a TV in one room now (where a ukulele group were playing and singing) and they do food (£7 menu). Now 4 pulls: Wye Valley HPA, Abbot, and two of their own, an American IPA and a very nice Golden Beast. Worth a visit for the building alone - but even better now it is a 2CB pub.

June 2013: This is the archetypal olde-world looking pub, with rear patio area and an unused coach-house. It is currently owned by Marstons, but has had a caretaker in for a little while. It is the Jacobean black beam style, with white painted brick infill. The interior has three rooms, but there wasn't anyone in when i visited, other than the caretaker, so one room, the lounge, was in darkness. You enter the main bar, but there is a pool room off to the right. The main bar is in white and beam look, with a splash of red over the large, dominating fireplace. There is a small second one in the room, indicating it was once sub-divided. There was no TV and no music. There are a lot of old prints on the walls and copious brasses dotted about in keeping with the style of the place. Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's Bitter and MILD (decent) on handpull. I hope this place comes back to life - it is a nice pub and the beer was fine - let's hope the heart isn't ripped out when it is taken-over.
