@ MJ 71. Her name was Mary. The pub was called and still is known locally as Auntie Marys

Not been in here for years but it is worth mentioning that 20 years ago this pub was a basic local run by an elderly lady whose name escapes me but it was renowned for serving the best Highgate Mild in the area!

An interesting exterior to this detached cottage-styled pub. The original core of the building looks at least Victorian. There are a couple of nice bay windows and three higher level sash-windows. The facade has like a slate cladding on it and there is an extension to the side.

The interior is an open plan room, with a couple of pool tand three screens with the football on. The decor is undressed brick, with wood panel and white ceiling and fakey beams. There is the odd photo on the walls, but it looks a little bare. The service was functional and there were a few young people in. There was chart music in the background.

Beer; all keg, no real ale. The Banks's MILD was ok.

Really, this felt like a younger persons pub (or those that want to feel younger!), with no real ale, the several screen and the pool tables. Not my thing really, but i can appreciate that it is different to the other Willenhall pubs and i am sure it works - well i hope it does anyhow. It would be good to get a younger persons review.
