UPDATE: Beer choice remains the same, the keg Banks's MILD being OK, but I found this a very friendly place at my last visit.

UPDATE Aug 2010: Re-visted the pub and i am glad to say the seating is now fine. The bar (entered through the right-hand door on picture) is in white and has a couple of dart boards, along with the pool table and there were loads of England flags still on the walls. The lounge was in darkness. There is a rear patio as well. The service was functional, the clientele locals and friendly - just be careful if using the patio, in case there is someone playing darts! Beer; all tap stuff with Banks's MILD. The electronic cask MILD and Banks's Bitter were not on. A basic pub, but a heck of a lot better than my first visit.

SEP 2009: Well, this place seems to have been up for sale for ages - something that is happening to lots of Bloxwich pubs sadly. This pub was built in 1974, to replace an older pub of the same name on the same spot. Yes, it lacks charm - having that look of the period - bit like a big house.

The interior, when i visited it - which was a little while ago, was a bar room (i didnt ventre into the lounge) with pool and Sky TV. It was in a bit of a bad state. The seats were those type from the buses in the 70s, filled with foam. Like the buses, half of this had been dug out and the seating split - indeed i had difficulty in finding a posture to allow myself to sit comfortably - perching a cheek at a time.

I didnt see anyone else in the pub, but i do outside from time to time, whatever the weather - whether this is because they can smoke, or its the only seat i am not sure.

The beer was just the usual stuff, with Banks's MILD smooth, that i remember, however i wont go back to see.

I and my partner Harry had a great night at The Queens last Saturday 7/04/2012 Karaoke Disco. DJ Paul presented a great Evening with a wide variety of music and songs, great. Michel and Adam are very sociable, nice people, and it appears they are doing their best to turn the Pub into a more friendlier and acceptable place for respectable revellers to enjoy a good night out without any fear of anti-social behavour, just what Harry and myself have been looking for.

The Queens Head is a typical looking estate pub and there were two rooms inside i went in the room on the left this was quite smart and there was also quite a few people drinking in this room
This pub is a Banks's house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Banks's mild and this was a decent drink the other beer was Banks's bitter.
