A detached Banks's corner pub, with side patio area. The pub is rather plain, looking like an extended cottage-style pub (side and back), with a central entrance flanked by large windows. It is in undressed brick and has a 50s look, although there is clearly older brickwork incorporated into it.

The interior has a central wooden serving bar, with a U-shaped room that curves around it. The decor is red and cream walls, with some patterned wallpaper, a white ceiling and a loud carpet (red tile around the bar area). At one end of the 'U' there is a dart board at the other a pool table, which is a little cramped to say the least - still, didn't affect my game. There is a general Banks's styled small tiled fireplace. A few prints are on the walls but it feals a little bare and there is a TV (had general stuff on). There was no music. The service was fine and there was no other real clientele at our visit.

Beer; usual tap stuff with a decent Banks's MILD. On handpull there was Marston's EPA and an OK Banks's Bitter.

A slightly better than basic pub, as it has real ale, albeit generic and does have the pub games. The interesting thing about the pub is that it is famed for the fact that you can stick your pint glass to the wall. Arguments rage about whether this is science (the composition of the wallpaper), magic, or ghosts. I offer no thoughts - i didn't even know sadly until i had left, otherwise i would have hung my coat up whilst playing pool. I thought it was a jest (go on, google it), but a couple of people i know, more reputable than myself, have confirmed the tale.
