Based in the lovely village of Croft, Warrington this pub does it's best to provide all that anybody could wish for! The place is very large and this gives sufficient alcoves for those who want a peaceful private drink, whilst the bar area is active and loud when the crowds are in and a separated section gives restaurant dining. Bar meals are available but we went for a restaurant sitting in between Christmas and New year but the trade was still reasonably buoyant. Compared to prices in general in the Warrington area then this place is quite pricy but compared to other pubs in Croft then it is on a par. However, you do get some lovely food and significant portions for your money. My wife went for the cod mornay and it was superbly cooked and immensely tasty. I went for the lamb shank and whilst very tenderly cooked when I saw a neighbouring table get the fish and chips I must admit I had a panging for that (still get that one on the next visit). The menu does have different prices depending on whether you want large or medium sized servings and this is good for those with a small appetite. The deserts were also very nicely made and very tasty.
The service and ambiance of the place made it nice and cosy and very welcoming and I do not thing it will be too long before a return visit.
