Alan Winfield left this review about The British Oak
The British Oak was a small stand alone pub that was situated away from the middle of Dudley town centre, the pub had a nice back drop of a very tall block of flats.
Once inside we crammed into a smallish room,so i did'nt get to see that much of it.
We visited this pub with Nottingham Camra in 1988 because this pub was in the Camra beer guide, there were five real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Skittain Castle Buin, this was a very well kept beer that i enjoyed drinking, the other beers were Eve'ill bitter,Hansons mild,Pedigree and Tetley bitter.
We really enjoyed our visit here because of the people we were with and the beers on the bar.
It is a great shame that this pub has now closed down.
