Still looks fairly traditional, but thoroughly refurbished inside with several 'Gin Palace' signs. The former lounge has been given an austere light-tiled treatment, whereas the bar has been given more of a café look. Behind this, there are a couple dining areas with even lighter furniture and decor. Four handpumps on the main counter plus another two on the other side, with Batham's Bitter, Wye Valley HPA, Enville Ale (£3.50, Holden's Golden Glow and Old Rosie cider available in total.

A detached cream rendered Banks's pub, with black paint work.

The interior is technically open-plan, but has two areas both served by the central serving bar. The main romm is an L-shaped lounge, where the food is served (i didn't eat, so cant comment on that). It is in white artx finish, with the odd red wall and a part white and beam and part grey ceiling. Some old adverts were on the walls for interest in the bar room and just outside it, with bistro kind of pictures in the dining area. There was also a small bar room that you enter via the door on the right. This is in the same decor and has a fake stone fireplace. The service was very friendly and a few locals were in, all eating.

Beer; tap stuff with Hobgoblin on handpull and a decent Banks's MILD and a bitter on electronic cask pump.

A decent little pub, friendly and decent enough beer - not the biggest choice, but the quality was there. I would definately pop back in for one if around again.
