A friendly locals pub, where you get a good welcome as a visitor. The pub is open plan with the bar facing you on the left of entrance. The bar continues around to the back room, where you can find another handpump serving Enville, so I too, as Soupy mentions below, missed this beer. Nevertheless my pint of Hook Norton Hooky was excellent. The two other ales were Bank's Bitter and Bank's Mild. There was also a selection of cobs.

UPDATE: The pub is Victorian and has been repainted in a mint green, which looks quite tasteful. The interior is pretty much as i remember it, creamish artex and yellow and there are TVs showing sport. The beer choice has improved considerably, with Banks's MILD, bitter, Cumberland Ale and Enville Ale now on handpull. The Enville is in a different room, so beware - i missed this but had a nice MILD anyhow. The pub gets better and better.

(Nov 2009) Another terraced white rendered cottage style pub, with a rear beer patio.
The interior was open plan, with several areas and was in white artex and wood panel. There were a number of general prints, in ostentatious frames, on the walls, for a bit of interest and some brass ornaments, giving a slight 70s feel. A couple of dart boards were in different rooms - where a competition seemingly was taking place. Service was good, the cobs ok and the clientele mixed and it was busy, on account of the competition. Music was varied and at a decent level.
Beer; tap stuff, with Banks's Bitter, and good MILD and a decent drop of Lancaster Blonde on handpull.
I enjoyed this place, and definately worth a visit for the MILD and the guest
