Fairly basic pub not far from Perry Barr dog track. Well used by locals and we were made to feel very welcome. Nothing on the ale front so I had a pint of Staropramen which was decent. Pool table and bar football. Glad I called in and I would happily visit again.

This is a detached Banks's pub, with patio area. It is modern, low-level and in white painted brick. It stood originally near to the old Perry Barr dog track (now over the road), hence the name. The interior has a couple of rooms, but the lounge/function room was all dark at my visit. The bar is large, with cream walls, a white ceiling and red 'brick' tile flooring. It has a pool table, dart board and a table footy game, as well as several fruit machines and a few arcade looking games. The TV's were mainly off, although one had golf one. There was no music, although there is a jukebox. The seating was mainly green leather perimeter stuff, a little ripped here and there, and the walls had a mix of boxing/Bruce Lee pictures and Villa stuff (with locals' photos). The service was friendly enough and the clientele was local and mature. Beer; no real ale, just the usual keg stuff with a decent enough Banks's MILD. A run-of-the-mill locals place, which sadly doesn't do real ale.
