July 2022: Davenports (currently in the Black Country) have taken over this bar and refurbed it. Is it better? Hmm, the hinest answer is I don't know. Its not as good as their former home at the Bulls Head. Its brash and smart inside, with some seating outside and in the now covered back space. Its ok, but ust lacking something. Doesn't help that they aren't my favourite beers, but their range of draft is available. Not many other offerings in this part of town.

July 2010: Sister pub to the Victoria in Birmingham, this is an interesting refurb of a traditional pub. Its described as a soul and funk house and is 'lounge' in style. There is an upstairs gin parlour that is open to all on a Friday evening.

Its ok, a good effort I think and a bit different, but its not really to my taste and prefer what they have done at the Victoria. But the beer is better here & they have the same as the Vic - Hooky bitter, Wye Valley HPA & Purity Mad Goose.

Fairly decent pub from the Bitter and Twisted stable with a heavy focus on Gin. We were the only customers in at opening time on a Saturday. The barman was very cheerful and happy to have a chat. Purity Ubu and Darwin's Origin were both in good shape. The last time I came here it was the Queen's Head! I won't leave it as long this time.

A fair enough pub that seemed to be popular with students types on this afternoon visit. A single narrow room which is quite comfy. Cocktaily nonsense was being served to giggling girls who spent more time playing with their fecking drink than actually drinking the stuff. 4 handpumps on the bar for real ale. Take the stupid cocktail rubbish out (or remove the miserable blokes like me) and its not too bad a pub.
