Not the best but it isn't too bad. No real ale that I could see. Had some bitter called Brew Xl.

Still rather unwelcoming due to its position below New Street Station is currently a 2 bar outlet for refreshing the construction workers on the adjoing station. Large screen TVs. The roadworks make this a pretty unhospitable place to get to, but things may change with the opening of the John Lewis store & Spanish Steps to the station in September 2015.

A Victorian undressed red brick and stone bar part of the Comfort Hotel and restuarant.

The interior is open plan but has two separate parts, two square rooms that touch in the corner of each. Both of these rooms are on two slightly different levels and both have Sky TV. They are served from a single bar that faces you on entry in the first room, but the second is served by a hatch from the side of the serving bar. The decor is a cream patterend wallpaper, with yellow ceiling and a beige moulded cornice. There is some etched glass, globe chandeliers and perimeter leather seating in the back room, where i sat. The walls have old photos and prints of old Brum. The service was fine, the clientele just a few maturer gents. The music was general and an OK level.

Beer; no real ale, all tap stuff, with an OK M&B MILD.

A tidy enough place, just not enough on the beer front to really bother with.
