A detached, 1930s Sizzling chain pub and eatery, with patio area. The pub takes its name from the hall that once occupied the site. It is in mock-Jacobean style, with a larger with and black bean front gable and three smaller ones, of white painted brick, to the side. Some of the pub is still in undressed brick and it has the tall stacks. The intererior has a two clear areas. At the back there is a bar area in yellow and green wood panel, with a part-snug area that has a fireplace. There is a pool table, dart board and a TV that had charty music on at a decent level. The front part of the pub is the dining area, and has a larger section with a couple of more discreet side areas. Here, the main decor is cream and yellow, with wallpapers and fireplaces in the side areas. TVs were showing the footy on this side and the walls had old photos of the area on them, as opposed to sport ones in the bar. There was no music. The service was functional and i didn't try the food. The bar was adult in clientele, the dining family based, as shown by the kids' grabbing machine. Beer; no real ale, just usual taps with a decent enough M&B MILD. A generic Sizzling place really - but it was nice to visit as we once pipped their footy team to the league title back in the 80s!
