Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Rocket Pools

Very strange name for a pub, originating from the large pond across the road (in turn, named after... who knows what). Anyway, this estate pub looks somewhat better kept than many others nearby, although the side lounge / carvery doesn't seem to be in regular use. On the other hand, the bar (with a pool table and dartboard) was busy enough, as was the front patio beer garden and children's play area. Sadly, neither of the handpumps on the main counter were operational, so I went for the Banks's Mild (£2.50).

Typical estate pub and well used by the locals. It was busy on my afternoon visit and the service was fine.

A detached 1960s typical estate pub in undressed brick, with extension. There is a large smoking shelter built onto the exterior of the bar and there is a patio area.

The interior has a couple of rooms. The bar has its own entrance and is a square room in cream and wood panel, with white ceiling. There were a couple of sport photos on the wall - one with John McEnroe and there is a dart board. A TV was on the wall with a BBC3 programme on the Spice Girls on - there was no other music. A larger lounge also has its own entrance. It also was in cream and wood panell, with a TV (general stuff on) and no music. There is a pool table and dart board here as well. The service was fine. The clientele consisted of several locals and their kids in the bar, who were riding around on scooters and one bloke in the lounge.

Beer; usual tap stuff, with Banks's MILD on handpull. I had a shandy.

A decent enough locals estate pub, but my visit was spoilt by the kids on scooters
