Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Apple Tree
Large Banks's pub, oddly situated in a slightly hollow beside the roundabout on the Dudley edge of the town centre. The interior comprises three irregularly shaped seating areas around the central bar, all given a reasonably modern refurbishment. Also has a small patio garden at the front. I was expecting food and cask beer, but both absent (at least temporarily) by problems encountered during a recent change of management. Made do with a keg Amber (£3.30) and a cob (£1.50).

The Apple Tree is what looks like a mid 20th Century pub set in a small hollow by a busy roundabout. Inside it's an open plan room with an almost island bar (peninsula bar?). It's carpeted throughout and the furnishings aren't that different to a JDW. The food offering looked similar to JDW but some of the items were cheaper.
The bar has three hand pumps which had one unused, Banks's Bitter and Marston Shipyard Summer Ale. It was a hot muggy morning so I went for the keg Banks's Mild (£2.65) which was a decent and refreshing drink despite being keg.
It's a pleasant enough place but not really for me.

A relatively modern detached Marston’s pub and eatery, with a slightly curved shape, in cream and beige, with beer patio and garden at the front.
This pub/eatery has a single main room with a central island serving bar. The open plan room is set out with tables like a typical Marston’s eatery. The décor is white and wood panel with a coffee coloured moulded cornice ceiling. There were mirrors and mixed art on the walls, mainly of landscapes. A few TVs had the news on and the background music was charty, but at least at a decent level.. We ate here and the food was better than the functional you tend to expect. The service was friendly enough and the clientele small.
Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks’s MILD and Hobgoblin and Banks’s Bitter on handpull – the bitter was OK.
A standard enough Marston’s foody place really, which at least does real ale. Happy to pop in for one kind of place for me.
