A modern gastropub. The pub is in 3 parts with a front area used mainly for dining, a middle narrow part and a rear area where you will find the bar. An outside area is also to the rear. 4 real ales on but sadly they were standard nationals.

Now owned by a London based firm called Oakman. This is a large modern style pub consisting of a central bar with the dining room running along the front and down one side of the bar. The rear lounge had a modern log burning stove, leather settees and large low tables and sage green wall panelling. The young barman was friendly and chatty and made us very welcome. Four handpumps on the bar, with three in use. We went for the locale Church Farm Pale Ale which was in great shape. Their two other ales on were London Pride and George Gale Seafarers ale. A well kept pub, with well kept ale.

Recently refurbished. L-shaped interior with plenty of statement pieces - wood burning stove, steampunk chandelier, horizontal pine tongue and groove panelling and some very dark green, almost black, walls and ceilings. Front part of the pub is for drinking, rear part is formal dining. Well-done courtyard area makes for the best imbibing spot. Four ales on, three from Marstons stable - 2x Ringwood and Wychwood Hobgoblin with a local ale - Church Farm IPA - at a faintly ludicrous £2.10 a half and not even that well-kept. Far too expensive and pretentious for me.
