Blackthorn _ left this review about The Hare
A fairly compact pub on what was at one time the less popular end of North Street, it changed it’s name a few years back and like many of it’s neighbours has now transformed from a rough and ready old boozer to something a little more appealing, and it was pretty much full to capacity on our recent Sunday afternoon visit. Do be aware of slightly restricted opening times if making a special journey – they do not open any lunch times for example, including weekends, and going on our experience it would appear that even the published opening times are not strictly adhered to.
It’s a fairly small, single room pub with the bar counter in the middle creating separate areas at the front and rear. The bar is up a few steps from street level and the good sized window at the front makes it a decent spot to watch the comings and goings outside. The flooring is a mixture of green carpet and wood strip with some red farmhouse tiles round the bar. There is dark wood panelling on the lower part of the walls with cream painted wallpaper above. The rear bar has a couple of stained glass panels in the roof and the rear wall is painted lime green. A number of old black and white photos adorned the walls including a large one of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and Avon Gorge. Up a few more steps at the rear is a terraced courtyard garden and this looked to be a pleasant enough spot with an area to one side being covered in AstroTurf.
Beers choice was somewhat limited with just one of the three pumps on the bar in use and this was dispensing Twisted Oak’s Leveret. To be fair though, the other two pumps looked to have run out rather than be unused, so I guess they had just had a busy weekend. A large number of beer mats plastered over the walls suggested a frequently changing selection and there were a few more craft beer options available on keg. The solitary cider meanwhile was Mortimer’s Orchard.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Hare
The Hare is a short walk from the Old Bookshop.
Once inside there is a small oblong shaped room which is up a few steps, the room is bare boarded, the seating bench type and chairs, there is a small raised area to the rear, background music was playing.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Sheriff Fat Man which was a decent drink, the other beers were Arbour Boom Town and Tarstone Ninja Stout.
This seemed a decent pub to have a drink in.

Blackthorn _ left this review about The Full Moon
Still open, although very quiet on a Tuesday night. We left at about 10:15 and the door was shut behind us as there was nobody else in there.
A pool table out the back and a couple of plasma's showing football.
Seemed ok, but couldn't say what it's like when busier.
