Alan Winfield left this review about The Cross
The Cross looks like it used to be a small pub but it has been extended into a ajoining building which is now a dining room.
Once inside there is an oblong shaped bar room to the front left, the seating this area is tall tables and chairs, there is a small area to the left which looks more comfortable and has normal tables and chairs.
There is a dining room to the front left which was full on our Saturday dinner visit, there is a larger area to the mid rear which is down a few steps, there is a small drinking area with copper topped tables the rest of the room is set aside for diners, there is an open kitchen to the rear of this area.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of York Terrier which was a decent drink, the other beer was Bombardier.
This is more of a dining pub than drinkers pub,but there were a few drinkers in the lower area and us in the proper pub area.
Probably a pub for fine dining and not one for drinkers like me.
