It's changed hands since the previous reviewers visited but remains food-led, though not completely in yer face. That said the main bar was full of final-salary types still munching away on a midweek afternoon, all tables laid. We went in the deserted snug at the back which seemed set up for drinkers though no pumps on the bar. Whatever, the North Cotswold Windrush was top notch; the other beer was UBU.
It all beams and open fires and of course Shakespeare had been a customer. It's in the GBG and worth a visit for nice beer and a nose round an interesting building, but you may want to avoid peak meal times.

Good Beer guide entry 2018.
Looks ancient but not too much like a pub from the outside.
Noted for its food, rather than drinking.
An average Jumping Jack Flash from North Cotswold Brewery.

The Broom Tavern is a bare brick brick built pub with exposed wood beams, the front door to this pub is out of use,you have to enter via the car park.
Once inside there is a single oblong shaped room, the bar is to the front left, the room is bare boarded, the seating was bench type to the front right, and tables and chairs to the rear, there is a seperate dining area to the rear with all tables laid out.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Purity Gold which was quite a nice drink, the other beers were Purity Mad Goose,Dorothy Goodbodys Barrel of Laughs and Doom Bar.
There was some background music playing.
We felt slightly uncomfortable in this pub,not sure why though.
