I don't know if the 1st posting was at the right Wooden Doll but I have been drinking and eating there for years and since Bill & Carole took over this is the best it has ever been.three generations of bad manegement brought it to its knees.
The pub is now at its best.
My wife is a sunday dinner expert and she says this has the best in the area the except for her own of course. I tried to get in for last sunday dinner and gave up the place was full to capacity with people waiting for tables a testimony to the quality of the food. The place is refurbished to a high standard and now there is no LOUD live music you can relax and enjoy the place.

The WOODEN DOLL has been completely refurbished from top to toe and is a splendid family orientated pub where families old and new can sit in comfort and "PEACE AND QUIET" (Gone are the days of the bands banging away)and enjoy Not only the finest views of the estuary and the Tynemouth and South Shields Piers but a family meal, thanks to the new owners BILL and CAROLE who have many years experience in the trade of serving customers who want a nice environment to bring their families to experience the new Luxurious WOODEN DOLL.(QUIZ) Wed. 9pm.FRIDAY MUSIC Quiz 9.30pm FREE food both nights. The DOLL can be contacted on 01912585154 for bookings.Etc. Restaurant serving Mon-Sat. 12-3pm. 6pm-9pm.SUN.12-5pm.
