L shaped interior to this pub which looks more modern from the outside than it actually is on the inside. Wooden settles round the walls and a couple of booths to the rear. The first floor beer terrace was a nice place to sit on a sunny day. I suspect it's rather bleak on a winters day though. Four handpumps with three on during our visit. Sadly we got ripped off for a glass of red wine. We ordered a 175ml glass and got charged for a 250ml one. We queried this with the barmaid who insisted she was right despite being shown a price list which proved she was wrong. A decent enough pub, but a staff refurbishment is needed and the rating reflects her attitude rather than the pub which would have been a 7.

I spotted this pub from my train journey into Newcastle station. The pub is also situated near the recently opened micro pub, named the Split Chimp. This is a stand-alone Victorian pub, with a roof top terrace seating area. The pub consists of an L-shaped room, which was modern and trendy in style, with coffee and cream décor. There were big trendy lamps hanging above the bar. Also a good range of continental lagers. Four handpumps on our visit, we went for the Firebrick Brewery Stella Spark. This pub had a respectable atmosphere and I would return.
