Requested be closed with reason - For sale: Sadly this one is up for sale and boarded. It used to be a pleasant real ale bar.

Malden man left this review about The Cooperage

Sad to see this one has gone, this was a beacon for real ale in Newcastle in the early 80s and a respite from the rammed circuit pubs of the Bigg Market and Quayside. Always seemed to have a bit of a metal music scene. It is believed to be one of the oldest surviving buildings in Newcastle. It was a regular late Friday night venue for me.
