A heavily modernised pub that has had any charm ruthlessly eliminated. L-shaped, with a dirty stripped wood floor and grey/off white paintwork. Mish-mash of furnishings, leather sofas and chesterfields to chunky wood chairs and tables. Dartboard to the right, some tabloid newspapers on a table, pool table and TV showing Sky Sports News with the volume up to an audience of no-one, which then got a run for its money when the other customer decided to put 50p in the jukebox (I retreated to the fairly well done decked and grassed rear garden). At the bar, three pumps with two ales (Doom Bar and Wychwood Hobgoblin). In fairness, the Doom Bar was fine and the owners were pleasant. But I really didn’t see anything to make this one worth getting off the train for.
