Hidden backstreet pub (although handy for Waitrose) with a slightly-chequered history but very respectable nowadays. The original pub building has a traditionally-furnished L-shaped room round the bar, with the former yard behind glazed over as an extension, while the garage and outbuildings have been turned into a pool room with a side area containing a sofa. Beers from Fullers (mainly 'Gales' brews) with occasional guests - Hophead at time of visit. We were possibly unlucky but the sampled Oliver's Island proved to be undrinkable, however it was changed without question for a much better Seafarers.

This is a very pleasant and relaxing Fuller's house, hidden away from the town centre down a winding lane. The main bar area is wood floored, wainscoted walls, hops are wound all around the 70s style curly metal bar gantry from where pint jugs hang. A busy side wall has various framed photographs of the pub through the years, old newspaper pictures, advertisements, a picture of the last flight of Concorde and a couple of late 1970s price lists that show that you could get a pint for 34p and that in those days the pub was a rarity, being free of tie. A few books on a shelf, plates mounted on a beam, the occasional brass object. Beyond the bar is a cobbled old courtyard, now roofed over with a conservatory and containing a few potted plants then beyond a former outbuilding, now a comfortable lounge. This has an exposed trussed roof, comfortable seating and décor including what can only be described as erotic art, a first in a pub for me, mostly seemingly by a local artist and for sale.
A decent if not the full range of Fullers beers, plus a guest, at the time Theakston's Bitter but this seemingly changes.
I liked it in here, clearly a locals' pub with people chatting across the room, an old boy sitting with his half and whisky chaser with a dog at his feet, one to look out for in Farnham.

A traditional pub serving most of the Fullers range plus a guest on six handpumps. An L shaped main bar with wooden flooring runs into an added on conservatory area with seating, beyond this is a seperate lounge room with leather sofas but no bar of its own. Pleasantly set on a back street away from the main traffic and noise, one of the better pubs in Farnham.
