A pub that appeard rather food orientated to me, inside its a modernised pub/restaruant in what was once obviously a traditional pub, these things have to be done sometimes to survive I suppose but it didn't float my boat. There were however four hand pumps, all in operation serving up ,Harveys Best, Sharps Cornish Coaster, Surrey Hills Shere Drop and Trumans Swift. It was pleasant enough sat outside in the sunshine but the pub itself didn't strike a chord, I wont be rushing back.

The Wheatsheaf on Esher Green - Under New Management - has re-opened with excellent food and service. It's so good to have our local back.....
The Wheatsheaf has undergone a complete makeover, the ambiance is just right. This is what I call a decent pub. Great selection of beers, Excellent Food - I had a Sunday Roast Beef. I asked for rare .... and it was just perfect ... (Now that's rare in a pub, normally it's pot luck and often covered in gravy). Francoise had Roast Chicken, also perfectly cooked. A treat. The wine was a very good Rioja - our preference ..... With an excellent view over Esher Green. The Wheatsheaf is the most pleasant place to be .....

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wheatsheaf
In a fine position overlooking Esher Green, but the appearance of the façade is not really enhanced by the plain front patio seating area. Inside, you find a modernised bar and dining room but plenty of traditional decor elements have been retained. Small rear patio beer garden plus separate grass beer garden at the back of car park. Three of four handpumps in operation when I visited, with Pride, Doom Bar and a decent pint of Shere Drop (£3.90) on offer.
