This pub is unchanged since the previous reviewer’s visit. When we were in there the other evening there were half a dozen ales on, which is very good going for a GK pub, even though this is one of theirs that has a policy of matching their own ales with guests. From the GK stable we had Abbot, St Edmounds, and something called Rifleman, which is no doubt some re-badged GK ale, plus Posh Pooch and Alley cat from Ascot Brewery, and Surrey Hills Shere Drop. The three guests were all sampled and were found to be in good nick. On the wall behind the bar counter were helpful tasting notes on all the ales.

This is definitely a worthy addition to the Epsom real ale scene. There are probably enough decent pubs in Epsom now to make a worthwhile pub crawl.

Situated opposite a seriously busy junction on the edge of Epsom town centre, this is a small single room pub with a sanded wooden floor, some exposed brickwork and a pleasingly unusual wallpaper along the side wall made from stacks of old postcard addressed facsimiles. The quirky wallpaper extends to the toilet lobby where there is a full wall of the local OS mapsheet. High tables to the front windows, standard seating opposite the bar to the side and beyond. There is a sunny decked and part lawned area to the rear. Towards the rear is a fireplace with modern tiling and a mirror above, the exposed brick hearth to the front looked no longer in use.
I expected very little from here to be honest but it is actually a decent place for a drink on the edge of the town centre. GK beers, not a pull for me, but they had IPA, OSH, something called Rifleman Ale (Morland's I'd guess 3.9%), London Glory plus also guests in the guise of Ascot Penguin Porter and sadly "coming soon" Tillingbourne Falls Gold. I'd have gone for that. Another Tillingbourne beer was apparently just cellared.
Much, much better than I expected, this is a decent pub, basic food is served, no frills, sandwiches, jacket spuds and sharing plates.
TV on showing the golf, unsure if they have Sky, doubt it or wouldn't the Ashes have been on?
