Large village pub that is tucked away a little off the beaten track. You approach to outdoor seating at the front. Once inside, there is a dining room to the left and a bar to the right. It's all nicely decorated, but lacked atmosphere on my late Friday afternoon visit. I assume there was a garden to the rear. But I did not venture that far.

Apart from the barmaid and a waitress or two in the dining area, the only 3 customers inside were some self-proclaimed grumpy old gits who were putting the worlds to right and listing the people they didn't get on with! It at least made for some interesting eavesdropping!

Adnams Southwold Bitter & Ghost Ship are regular beers. The guest beer was Green Jack Golden Best. Location appears to be this pub's biggest selling point. Otherwise, it's fairly run of the mill.

I have come to the conclusion that an immaculately-kept exterior means that the pub is 'foody',and this is certainly the case here. The two sides are not labelled, but the right-hand side is slightly more of a drinkers' area, with fairly traditional furnishings, although still much used for food. The left hand side is more modern in style but primarily a restaurant/dining area, opening through to modern extensions behind. Large garden to the side and a monthly nightclub in the outbuildings. Beers included some interesting and well-kept local ales while the food, although undoubtedly of very high quality, seemed pricy and not over-generous.
