Extremely old building refurbished with modern furniture, which doesn't necessarily produce a good effect. The bar is in the main room to the left, with the room to the right laid up as a restaurant. Very friendly welcome however and a reasonable selection of ales on offer, which seemed in good condition. Signed as being dog- and child-friendly, with a garden to the rear and tables on the pavement to the front. Cask Marque registered.

I booked a table for six plus a baby on Monday 20th Dec at lunch time.After ordering we were told that three of the items on the menu were not on.We then reordered 3 meals only to be told 10 mins later that one of these was not on.We then waited 45 mins for our food to be served and when it came they had got the order wrong and one of the meals was inedible ie.the steak and kidney suet pudding.All in all the food was dreadful and this is a pub to be avoided at all costs,They have certainly lost my bi monthly visit.
