A detached pub and eatery formerly called the Merrie Miner. The core of the pub is a cottage-styled Victorian building with a low-level extension and a conservatory. Yhe pub is half in undressed brick and half in white render with some green paintwork. The upstairs has sash windows, while the lower level has a central entrance flanked by bow windows. There is a kid's play area and beer garden.

The interior has a couple of rooms, served by a central bar. The bar room is to the left, which is an L-shape when including the extension. It is in white mainly, with a wood floor. The extension here houses a pool table area and there is a dart board and punchbag machine. a bit of Mod stuff was on the walls and with a portable TV (showing rugby) it looked a little tired. The lounge is to the right, with a conservatory that doubles as a cafe. It is also an L-shaped room and is in a cream and salmon decor, with a white upper wall and ceiling, as well as a patterned carpet. It mainly had tables and chairs, but a few sofas too. There were photos of old Dordon and the pub on the walls. The background music was general and a decent level, but i didn't see a TV. The service was friendly, as were the few locals that were in.

Beer; no real ale. All tap stuff, with no MILD. Had a bottle of Newcastle Brown.

A nice enough place to stop, especially with the Soupettes, it was just the lack of beer choice for my personal taste. I didn't begrudge my Newcy Brown though.
