This is a fantastic country pub, with patio, beer garden and bowling green, in the shadow of a former windmill (disused by 1900) on Gentleshaw Common. The pub has two rooms, the lounge is for dining (have eaten here before and it is always fine - the menu features Windy Miller and other characters from Camberwick Green). The bar is irregular in shape and is in the slightly 80s brick and fake beam look, with a fireplace or two. Old local photos decorate , along with some general ephemera. Service was friendly and the pub busy with diners and visitors. No music and the TV wasn't on. 4 real ales, Slater's Top Totty, Bristol's Holler, Hopback Citra and a nice pint of Bass. Excellent place.
SEP 2009: A very traditional country pub, the does good food. The outside looks fine, though the car-park is a bit worn.

The interior is traditional, with its wooden beams and tables. The service is excellent, even offering me the choice of glasses so i don't end up with a C***ling one and indicating that i have been seen and will be served asap.

Three real ales; Wells Bombardier, Pedigree and a Roosters. As its an endangered species, i had the M&B MILD, which was great.

Always happy to come to this place

A fine country inn on the hills around Cannock and Longdon. Lots of beams and things, comfortable, subdued lighting and popular with diners. The main car park is on the opposite side of the road.

Food is good & it is known for its steaks. So much better then large chain fayre. And family friendly.

Three real ales including one less usual, in this case Stairway to Heaven.

A fine pub
