Proper village pub, where people greet each other by name, but random strangers made to feel welcome too. Traditional-looking L-shaped bar opened-out from two small rooms, with a smaller entrance lobby bar servery behind the main counter for the modernised side room. Narrow front patio terrace. Bass (£5.10 with a packet of peanuts), Wainwright, Ghost Ship and Hobgoblin Gold being dispensed the four handpumps.

A traditional village pub well used by the local community. The front door by the outside benches leads to a small parlour area with a fireplace and the L shaped island bar while to the left is a seperate room used for dining.Food is now available 12-2pm and in the evening. We didn't eat due to a private party being held in the dining area which meant no food servive that evening. It is worth walking around the island bar to the larger room so that you can see the full ale range, which on my trip was GK Abbott,Marston's Pedigree,Banks's Mild and an excellent pint of Bass. This larger drinking area has a dart board at one end,two TV screens, copper topped tables and is the regulars haunt, although the decor is a little bland. The low ceiling around the entrance shows the buildings age. There is a sign stating that the business is for sale due to retirement of the current owners,I hope that this does not change the look or feel of this village pub.

Nice old brick building, with and strange L shaped bar, with several small rooms around it; one with half armchairs and a piano, another with wood pew seats and stools, with copper type tables, another with wood tables. Beer terrace as well.

I wasnt keen on this place when i entered, i stood aside to allow the locals out the front door and was blanked. The landlady made no rush to serve me and left my drink for the barmaid to finish off and charged me more than the barmaid wanted to!

However, it started to grow on me. The landlady was clearly busy and the barmaid was really friendly, wishing me well as i left. The local chap up the bar softened to the 'townie' as well. The background music was decent and not blasted at you.

The beer was usual stuff, with Abbots and Bass as the real ales; the Bass was fine. I would visit again.
