Planning permission granted. Shame. https://www.staffordshire-live.co.uk/news/burton-news/new-owner-former-staffordshire-pub-6162307

Terraced pub that is a brilliant old timewarp. Two rooms with a central bar dividing down the central middle. Public to the right (bottle green bench seating, maroon painted woodwork, cream walls, lino tile flooring and plenty of ephemera to see including a load of Bass mirrors and ticking clocks) and a smaller lounge to the left (tongue and groove panelling, blue leatherette bench seating). Bar the double glazed windows, you could well believe you're back in the 50's here. Three ales on, the classic duo of Bass (NBSS 3.5) and Pedigree with Adnams Broadside as a guest. Friendly landlady good for a chat about the local pub scene and the pub’s recent history (with some interesting tales about previous licensees). Shame there’s no cobs available any more. A really nice place and I would have been happy to stay here all afternoon. 8.5

The Derby Inn is situated in a terrace on the main road towards Derby, though with a pub sign that seems to want top claim a link to the Epsom horse race of the same name. There are two fairly narrow rooms either side of the central bar, and a sort of snug to the rear. Beers available at the time of my visit were Abbot, Bass, Timothy Taylor Boltmaker and a 9% imperial stout (brewed locally at the Museum Brewing Company) that I gave a swerve to on this occasion. If we'd won the game just up the road it might have been another matter.

Lengthy walk out of town but worth it. Choice of bar or lounge on entry - I went right into the bar. You can tell from the noticeboard how seriously they take their beer....

Choice of Bass or TT Boltmaker. Bass in perfect condition.

Lovely place.
