Called in around noon on a Wednesday and found the pub exactly as Alan had described right down to the 3 unclipped pumps and the landlord not ready to serve drinks although he did relent and let me have one.

The Ferryboat is a nice looking pub that is set sideways onto church street.
When i first tried to do this pub the landlord said he was'nt quite ready to serve beers,so i returned a bit later.
Once inside there is a nice looking room facing, the bar is to the left but facing inwards, this room had comfy bench seating with small stools,it was carpeted and had an olde worlde feel to it,there was another room down one step to the left but i did'nt look in this room.
When i arrived on my second visit of the day the pub was open, there were three pumps on the bar but all unclipped, this left me with John Smiths smooth crap, when i asked for a drink of this the friendly landlord said "i will buy you this one",i went on to have chat with him and he explained that the pub did not sell real ales or Guinness quickly enough to have them on the bar.
This is a really nice comfortable pub that i hope gets more custom in the future.
