This large and rather ugly pub has been split between three businesses: a convenience store on the left, a mobile phones and vaping supplies on the right, and the remnant of the pub in the middle. There's also a side entrance to the bar from Albany Road, and its worth going this way as there are a couple of mosaics of a white swan beside the short flight of steps. Inside it's quite bright and modern, but on the bar just the usual keg stuff - I went for the John Smiths Smooth Crap. At the rear there's a door out to an outdoor seating area which I didn't explore, and next to that a second bar, or what seemed more like a hatch, though it didn't seem likely that the place would ever get so crowded you couldn't serve everyone at one counter, so I'm not sure what the point was. There was quite a decent atmosphere, with a group of locals ignoring the cricket on the telly and having a lively conversation about getting old and what they're going to give up next.

This is a great pub. It was refurbished recently. It has disco/karaoke at weekends, which makes it ideal for a night out. During the week it's quieter, but still a good night out for a couple of drinks. The staff are very friendly and great fun. They have pool & darts and the beer is very good at very reasonable prices. What more could you ask for??
