Two rooms with the bar in the middle. The lounge was very noisy with kids running around so I went in the taproom which was nice and quiet with a game of dominoes taking place. Pool table to the rear. Oh, and just keg of course.

I went to enter the left-hand bar of the Angel on Wednesday evening last week but was met by a rottweiler who was barking and snarling at me through the door window. A local smoking out the front said “I wouldn’t go in there” so I took his advice and went into the right-hand bar. There was some background music playing off the jukebox and the large television was showing muted Sky Sports news. At the rear of the pub behind the bar is a pool table and I spied a second television and a dartboard in the out-of-bounds left-hand bar. The bar is stocked with standard keg and I noted that bar food such as hotdogs for £1 were advertised. I didn’t see any menus but imagine that food is available during the day. This isn’t a pub that I will be seeking out again.

The Angel is a basic corner pub that used to be a Wm Youngers tied house.
Now the pub has Burtonwood signs outside but once inside there are none of their beers on the bar with only Keg beers available.
This is mainly a locals pub.
