A 1970s-style estate pub consisting of a single small bar and an even smaller games room, containing 2 pool tables, attached. There is a tiny, tight car park at the side, and very little on-road parking nearby. The inside has clearly been cleaned up considerably since BobOs visited, there being fairly new carpet and paintwork in good order, although the clientele doesn't seem to have changed. There were untethered children rampaging freely, their limited vocabularies matched by the similarly limited vocabularies of some of the more moronic adults present, though the barmaid was friendly enough. The music on the juke box was unexpectedly pleasant. Pies and pizzas were on sale at a reasonable price. Three ales on draft, all from Wadworth. I had 6X which was drinkable but by no means well looked after. The Standard has risen to average, but is certainly not royal and I think this one's best left to the locals.

Typical rough estate pub with a firmly-established local clientele who don't appear to relish the idea of strangers walking into 'their' pub. The whole pub could stand a paint job, a bit of TLC and a bloody good clean. Welcome was brusque, beer was just about adequate. Well below average.
