A traditional local just outside the ringroad, in a Victorian residential area. The surrounding development has meant there is little room outside, just a small terrace at the front with a couple of benches on it, mainly used by smokers. Inside, there is a large bar at the back mainly used as a function room. The main bar is in two parts, one dominated by a pool table, the other a more traditional bar. The music playing was rather tolerable, the staff were very welcoming and the locals friendly. Clearly the problem customers referred to by BobOs have been sorted out. The pub runs various events including live music and charity collections. There was only one ale on draft, Teignworthy's Neap Tide, which was too cold but otherwise drinkable, and there were a few bottled beers available. A thoroughly decent local, but not necessarily a venue unless you happen to be in the area.

VERY much improved of late - friendly welcome, friendly locals and at least one good ale on which is changed each week. OK, it is still very much a locals pub but is now always included in our regular Yeovil crawls.

Unwisely ventured in to what appears to be a haunt of the knuckle-dragging proto-simian Hominid population of Yeovil. Not a very nice place these days and I didn't even approach the bar - I wasn't THAT thirsty!
