A former nice house in nice grounds, but has acquired extensions over the years that make it fairly confusing when seen from outside, though the car park helps to camouflage. Unique selling point is seemingly a proximity to Manchester airport, and appropriate accommodation is offered. Inside, despite all the changes, it's one large open space with strategically placed screens, and every table set for diners except for two or three booths near the bar. There's not much to offer the casual pub crawler trying to make up for a disappointment across the road at a "heritage" pub, with the perfunctory service from the bar staff not even extending to waiting to see if a top up would be required in a customer's 80% full glass of Greene King IPA. Well, obviously I was happy to pay only £2.15 for such a magnificent beer, and thanks for relieving me of the need to drink 20% of it. Actually, to be fair, it was in very good condition, but I didn't like this pub at all. Actually, it's not really a pub, is it. A little over an hour previously I had been at the Ladybrook, a Greene King pub north of Bramhall, and it's hard to believe that these two pubs are owned by the same pub company.
