The Stoke City FC caricature on a white brick wall at the front of the Terrace Inn is an indication that this is very much a sports pub. I visited on a recent Tuesday evening when the rear of the pub was closed leaving only the rectangular front bar area with a dartboard, focal pool table and televisions throughout for airing Sky Sports. Standard keg was available and two of the four hand pumps were in operation drawing Pedigree and Sharp’s Sea Fury. There were only a couple of customers, but they were friendly enough, as was the landlady who asked me if I was lost. I bet there’s a great atmosphere in here when the Potters are at home, but maybe not at other times.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Terrace Inn

A 'larger than you might expect' L-shaped pub in an elevated position but unfortunately the front decking area is facing in the wrong direction to take best advantage of the view over the Trent valley. Inside, both bars initially look quite plain but have a few decorative features - e.g. the coloured glazing on the servery gantries - if you look hard enough. The busier front room has a pool table and the two-part lounge has a conservatory at the back (which does offer more of a panorama). With four handpumps on each counter, I found two real ales from Sharp's - Doom Bar and Sea Fury - and a pair from the Marston's stable - Pedigree and the seasonal Dirty Tackle (£3.50).

Alan Winfield left this review about The Terrace Inn

The Terrace Inn is an estate type pub that is situated at the top end of penkhull new road, this is a very steep hill to walk up.
Once inside there was a bar at the front, this room was part tiled and part carpeted, the seating was comfortable bench seating in bays which faced the bar, there was a pool table in between the seating and bar.
There was a seperate lounge to the rear which was a bit larger than the bar, this room was carpeted and had bench seating and normal tables and chairs, there was a large screen to the rear of this room showing Stoke City v Chelsea.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Bass which was a nice drink, the other beers were Pedigree,Hobgoblin and Jennings Snecklifter.
The pub was fairly busy with a mixed bunch in.
This was a decent enough pub to have a drink in.
