Large family-friendly corner pub on a busy junction. A genuine two-roomer with a central servery. Fairly corporate décor but warm and tidy on a miserable day. Majors on pub grub and the Sunday roast portions were impressive. Football on at a sensible volume. Ale-wise, Doom Bar and Abbot are only listed in the public bar which I didn't know as we entered from the car park into the lounger/diner so I ended up with John Smiths Smoothflow crap. Darts in public bar. It serves a purpose and it felt like the locals had a decent place to while away their Sunday.

The Black Lion is a very nice looking pub that is situated on the corner of a very busy road junction.
Once inside there is a really nice looking bar to the front, this room seemed pretty much unaltered with a nice looking wood bar and part tiled floor, there was a pool table to the left and dart board to the right.
The seating was comfy bench type and small stools, there was one tall table and even this looked old and more like an antique.
There were three pumps on the bar but only one in use which had Abbot on,this was a fairly nice drink.
There is a larger lounge to the rear which looks different again, this room looks a lot more modern and people were having meals in here.
If you want a traditional pub, drink in the front room.
