Wasn't a bad place to go for a pre-Thekla pint back in the day (96-99) though always seemed very empty given its location (perhaps that's why we went?). No real ale I recall, so I usually had a pint of Caffreys. Seem to remember that the interior was a mish-mash of 60s and 80s design (wooden slatted stairwell, green curtains). I'll give it a decent score for nostalgia value.

The Crown and Cushion was demolished in early 2006 to make way for the wonderful new redevelopment of Broadmead. There is currently a nice big hole where it once stood, so no real change I guess.
