Unless there is another entrance this pub is located through an alley and into a small courtyard. The pub is larger than expected but sadly its not great. Basically open plan, it does have distinct areas to sit. A small sunken area is the first bit you come to on entering and beyond that, to your right is the bar. There were 4 real ales to choose from but none were particularly inspiring, being National standards. Its a clean and well presented enough pub but it just doesn't do it for me.

Nothing seems to have changed since my last visit in 2009. It's still a nice place to call in for one, but the beer range is still uninspiring with Hobgoblin, Jennings Cocker Hoop & Banks's Bitter available on this visit. My pint was in good condition though. I only ever call in here for one and I've been in a lot when I worked in the area. The beer range just isn't varied enough to warrant a session.

This is a food and music led pub with loads of dining tables towards the rear of the pub. The front part of the pub has comfy seating with leather sofas it also has a big screen TV and a quiz machine. It's effectively one room but has several distinct areas. There is an adjoining venue called The Loft that has an admission charge at nights. Would you really want B & B at a place that's got a late night music venue? It's got lots of old wood inside and a good looking fireplace. There is a cobbled courtyard that stretches round two sides of the pub for a bit of peaceful and sheltered outside drinking. There are three handpumps on the bar, last night they were selling Banks's bitter, Jennings Cumberland and Wychwood Hobgoblin. I had a pint of the Hobgoblin which was pretty good. It's quite a nice place for one.
