Country pub that is a little off the beaten track. It seems to have a focus on food. We arrived late in the afternoon, presumably after the lunch crowd and before the dinner crowd. So, there were only a handful of drinkers, the majority of whom were sat outside enjoying the country views.
HPA & Wainwright were the real ales.

17th century cuntry pub not far from the outskirts of Halesfield Industrial Estate , despite this there are splendid views to the south Shropshire Hills from the beer garden.
The pub is well described in the previous reviews , pretty much food led with a good local reputation .
Friendly service and locals , usual kegs and three handpulls with nationals on , i had a GK IPA Gold it was decent for what it was , barman told me they do have beer from micros on occasions.
I enjoyed my visit here and will return with Mrs Oggwyn in tow to try some of the exelent looking food.

A nice cream rendered cottagey style country pub, with beer patio.
The interior has a couple of rooms. The main room is open plan and has three areas; a bar stool area, a sofa area (where nobody sat) and up a step into a dining area, with a fireplace. The decor is read and white in general, with some white beams, brass ephemera and sport pictures. There is also a dart board and a TV, which had sport on. The was a small 'exclusive' dining room in red and white as well. I didn't eat so can't comment on the food, but the menu was mainly £9 - 16 range. The service I found a little functional at best, the clientele was mixed and it was reasonably attended.
Beer; tap stuff with Spekky Hen, Spitfire and a decent Wyre Piddle Through the Leaves on handpull.
A tidy enough place that attempts to cover all bases. I believe it has been taken over since the last review was done, so the quirky food is no longer on the menu. Fine place, just lacked a smile for me.
