A small country pub in a village that formerly had several of them, this appeared to be a work in progress with work going on in the car park, ungrouted patio slabs and a couple of guys in the midst of doing some kind of renovation out back. It's a cosy two-roomer with a square bar area entered into from the car park, with the bar in the right-hand corner, three small tables, stools against the bar and a low sofa and fireplace. A small dining room is accessed through a doorway to the left of the bar. Just the one ale (another handpump was unclipped) which was XT 4 at £3.80 a pint. Obviously in transition and unfair to judge based on a fleeting midweek lunchtime visit, I'll forego a score this time 'round.
