A traditional stone built village boozer which hasn't been too messed about with internally. A refurbished gastropub it isn't.
Inside it is a comfortable, rural boozer with plenty of wood, floors, furniture and bar, a wood burner, books for sale at £1 into the charity box and a wide selection of board games.
Food was decent and value but it's pretty basic pub grub. Steak nights on Monday to Thursday were advertised with a 10oz steak and half a bottle wine for £10.
Four handpumps had on 2 ciders alongside Skinners Betty Stoggs and a decent Salopian Shropshire Gold.
A solid bet for a decent pint and something to eat.

ORIGINAL REVIEW April 2015
A very charming village pub in Oxfordshire stone,it has retained a multi roomed interior with a low ceiling and exposed interior stone work.To the left of the entrance is a seperate dining room while to the right is a large lobby with a few more tables set for dining.Beyond this is the wooden floored bar area,an L shaped section with traditional wooden furniture, chairs and stools with a wood burner and a flatscreen turned off.Beyond the bar room is a small snug area with more seating.
There was a friendly welcome from behind the bar from a young team, and the pub was well used by villagers and visiting boaters from the nearby Oxford Canal.
I didn't eat,but the pub grub menu looked decent and you can eat in the bar room which is the livelier part of the pub. There is a charity book case with paperbacks sold for £1.A beer festival will take part in September.
There were four handpumps offering a real cider,Salopian Darwin's Origin and Shropshire Gold (both in tip top condition) while a pump was unused but a Slaters dark beer was up next once conditioned.
Pleased to find such a decent freehouse ,it must be in consideration for the GBG and it's a pub I would most definitely return to.

UPDATE
The deal here is two very well kept real ales with Salopian Shropshire Gold a regular and two real ciders. The food is pub grub style and good value but not haute cuisine.Well used by villagers,it's a solid boozer.
