The College Oak is a Greene King pub found at the end of a parade of shops on the Peachcroft estate. The square interior has raised seating along the right wall where a couple of the tables were set up for the poker night that was well attended. The bar on the rear wall faces high tables that are against a partition which separates the bar area from a front carpeted seating area where a couple more poker tables were up and running. Televisions are found throughout for airing live sport, but these were muted whilst some background music played. The bar supports four handpumps that were drawing TT Landlord, St Austell’s Tribute, GK IPA and Wadworth’s 6X. Standard and premium keg was also available from the polite bar staff. Food is available, the burgers start at £8.29. This pub exceeded my low expectations and actually it’s a pretty good pub, but probably not worth the walk from town though.

A GK estate pub located on a housing estate and next to a parade of shops. A squarish-type room, this offers the meal deals that its brethren does and had a four ale line-up of GK IPA, Sharp's Doom Bar, Olde Trip and TT Landlord. Lots of screens dotted around at looking-up level with sport and/or sporting news on mute. Locally, but not staring locally, so no need to enter on tenterhooks.
