Whitewashed exterior with pleasingly rounded corners. It is newly refurbished inside and fairly tasteful - black and white tiling, some padded bench seating etc though not intrinsically characterful and verges a little on the bland. Plenty of ales across a good range of styles and my Severn Pale was in good nick. Is this still a Greene King pub?? GBG19 listed and a decent place for a beer, though not as befitting a drinking pub compared to the Brewery Tap or Punchbowl.

Pleasant peaceful pub in a town with more than its fair share of noisy ones. Food is a priority here but it also has a nice traditional style drinking area. 3 real ales usually available, 2 from the Greene King range and a guest. They offer 40p discount per pint to CAMRA members. Occasional live jazz on sunday afternoons. Small patio garden at the rear for smokers. A pleasant place to unwind.
