This dog-themed pub and brewery on the outskirts of Sutton is not a million miles from Sutton Parkway station.
We arrived to a crescendo of barking and a general hullabaloo from the pub's canine customers, who were spread over the pub's two rooms. The brewery itself can be viewed through windows from one of the rooms. The bar is located rather awkwardly in one corner.
All real ales were from the in-house brewery - Doggie Darko, Sit! Ra, Dog Tales, Dog Tired, Sit Stay, The Hairy Dog & BDM. Ciders were all varieties of Weston's Rosie's Pig - Cloudy, Rhubarb, Strawberry and Elderflower & Raspberry and Cucumber.
No sooner had the dogs calmed down, a large group of young women arrived and were just as noisy. They appeared to be starting an evening out and were mostly consuming pints of the cider.
This is another pub with limited opening times, being closed Monday to Wednesday and not opening until 4pm on Thursday and Friday. However, it can certainly get quite lively when open.

This was our last pub in Sutton before catching the train back to Sheffield, and easily the busiest at 5pm a couple of days before the end of the year. There were seven hand pumps on the bar (see photos) and I went for both the Thornbridge Browne and the Abbeydale Black Mass, the latter being 6.66% (allegedly). Then it was out into the bleak midwinter darkness to trudge our way through snow and ice to the station. (Luckily we had to change trains at Worksop, so were able to pop into the Mallard, but that's another story.) This pub alone would justify a return to Sutton, and if it was in summer rather than winter, I would be happy to do again whichever of the pubs are still open.
